TDP chief to hold series of meetings in Telangana, Seemandhra

N Chandrababu Naidu
The Telugu Desam leader N Chandrababu Naidu will hold a series of public
meetings over the next few days in both the Telangana and Seemandhra
regions of the State.
According to the TDP, its chief will begin these meetings referred to as
‘Praja Grajana,’ a broad-based public meeting, on Tuesday at
Mahbubnagar, followed by Srikakulam on Wednesday, Krishna (Thursday),
Anantapur (April 1) and Nalgonda (April 2).
Such public meetings in the recent past have not only become a platform
to reach out to people and outline the party approach, but have also
been serving as a platform to announce the induction of various leaders
from other political parties into the party. Over the past couple of
weeks, several senior leaders from the Congress, including former
Cabinet ministers, have joined at such public events.
While the party has seen a significant number of senior leaders from
Congress joining it in the Seemandhra region, it has lost some of its
leaders in the Telangana region to TRS and Congress.
Senior Congress leader and former minister J.C. Diwakar Reddy has joined
TDP and is likely to get the Anantapur Lok Sabha ticket. He has won six
consecutive times from Tadipatri, defeating TDP candidates. Tollywood
actor P. Babu Mohan on Sunday announced his decision to quit the TDP
without assigning any reason. He was twice elected from Andole
constituency of Medak district.
