Three arrested after girl, 15, shot dead in east London

London — Three boys have been arrested after a teenage girl was shot dead in east London, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police and paramedics were called shortly before 4pm on Saturday to a shooting in Eastway, Hackney.
London Ambulance and air ambulance crews attended but the girl, aged about 15, was pronounced dead at the scene, Scotland Yard said.
"Officers believe they know the identity of the deceased and have begun informing family, however they await formal identification," a police spokesman said.
"A post-mortem examination will be held in due course," he added.
Detectives from the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating the shooting.
Three boys, all aged under 18, were arrested Saturday close to the scene and taken to an east London police station where they were being held for questioning
